Senator Francis Fadahunsi on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, visited the police station following an invitation from the Nigeria Police Force and subsequently addressed members of the press.

The senator’s visit comes amid public attention surrounding a viral video in which he was alleged to have made controversial comments relating to members of the Accord Party.

In a video shared on YouTube by Channels Television on Wednesday August 12, 2026, Fadahunsi explained that his decision to appear at the police station was based on his respect for the law and the need to understand why

the police had requested his presence. Rather than ignoring the invitation, the senator said he chose to comply and personally seek clarification from the authorities.

Speaking to journalists after his arrival at the police station, Fadahunsi explained that his immediate objective was to find out the reason behind the invitation. He stressed that he had a responsibility to obey the law and cooperate with the police as a senator and citizen.

In his words, “I have to obey the law to come and see our policemen and ask them why they are inviting me.”

The senator’s appearance before the police comes at a time when the viral video attributed to him has generated considerable public reaction. The controversy has prompted calls for clarification over the exact meaning and context of some of the statements contained in the footage.

By appearing at the police station, Fadahunsi demonstrated his willingness to respond to the invitation and engage with the authorities. His comments also suggested that he wanted the police to clearly explain the issues surrounding the invitation before proceeding with any further discussion.
