The Police in Benue State have arrested a 60-year-old man over the alleged defilement of a 10-year-old girl in Igumale district, Ado Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
The incident was reported to the police on October 13, 2026, while the victim was taken for medical examination and necessary treatment.

Nwadiogbu said that the arrest was among the operational achievements recorded by the command during the month of October under review.
He also explained that the command arrested 14 suspects, recovered seven locally fabricated firearms and 16 rounds of ammunition and cartridges, and neutralised one suspected bandit.
The police commissioner attributed the successes to intelligence-led operations, prompt response to distress calls, sustained patrols and collaboration with other security agencies and community stakeholders.
Nwadiogbu therefore urged members of the public to promptly report cases of violence, abuse and other criminal activities to enable timely intervention.
