The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has released the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, results of underage candidates for viewing. This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, Dr Fabian Benjamin. Benjamin, however, said that the release of the results did not confer eligibility for admission on all underage candidates, as only those who met its stringent requirements for exceptional consideration would be admitted. The Federal Ministry of Works, Anambra State Field Headquarters, has officially announced the closure of the First Niger Bridge in Onitsha to commence repair works. The closure comes after last week’s visit by the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, who inspected a vandalised section of the bridge, where bolts and iron rods had been stolen by scavengers. A Katsina State resident, Aminu Sanda, popularly known as Nesta, has been detained and charged with treasonable felony over allegations that he destroyed pro-President Bola Tinubu campaign billboards. Sanda was initially invited by the police in Katsina and subsequently detained over allegations that he pulled down the president’s billboards and broke into the Katsina State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he was accused of carting away N35 million. The suspects, identified as Rose Daniel and Blessing John, were apprehended on August 27, 2026, while allegedly attempting to flee with the child, Ummi Mariam Abdullah.
