Julius Abure, factional national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), has advised Seriake Dickson, national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), to be cautious in his alliance with Peter Obi and his supporters. A married woman identified as Oluchi has been arrested by the Edo state police command for allegedly faking her own kidnapping in the Ikpoba Hills area of the state. Eno Ikoedem, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrest to Newsmen on Monday. Prior to the arrest, Oluchi’s family had raised an alarm over her suspected abduction. The Ogun state police command says it has arrested eight foreign nationals over staged abduction and ransom fraud. In a statement on Monday, the command said the suspects, who are members of a transnational criminal syndicate, were involved in fake kidnapping schemes designed to extort ransom from unsuspecting families abroad. Five among the suspects, identified as Suren Neta, Koffi Breno, Gondo Treso, Kougasi John, and Hemue Blinsi are from Ivory Coast.
