The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested three suspects in connection with the transportation of vandalised pipelines belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). A yet-to-be-identified man has been killed in a suspected hit-and-run crash along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, near the OPIC corridor in Ogun State. The incident occurred shortly before 1 pm on Wednesday when the victim, said to be a young adult, was reportedly attempting to cross the expressway from the Lagos-bound carriageway towards the roadside around the OPIC area. A man identified as Emmanuel Etim has allegedly set his mother, Mrs Atim Eyo, on fire after accusing her of being responsible for the death of his daughter in an alleged case of witchcraft branding. A 52-year-old home lesson teacher identified as Daniel Erumudonmoh Okhuilegbe has been remanded at Oko Correctional Centre, Benin City, for alleged defilement of his 13-year old pupil. The suspect was alleged to have committed the offence on August 5, 2026. Ex-Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has alleged that the Accord Party spent at least N40 billion during the August 15 Osun State governorship election. Speaking during an interview on Trust TV, ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the party’s low vote count was due to its collaboration with the Accord Party, which won the election. The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has destroyed two plantations of cannabis worth 4,628.9kg and arrested 10 suspected drug traffickers in separate operations across the state. This was disclosed on Monday by the state Commander, NDLEA, Mitchell Ofoyeju.
