Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a consignment of cannabis concealed in a gallon of palm oil at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, as well as seized 8,725 kilogrammes of tramadol powder worth over N6.98 billion at the Apapa port in Lagos. The cannabis consignment, weighing 511.75 grammes, was intercepted from a female passenger travelling to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, through Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Operatives of the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) have arrested a 49-year-old man, Samson Ecater Igbinedion, in connection with the discovery of a dismembered woman’s body in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of the state. President Bola Tinubu has approved the purchase of additional train coaches and security equipment to boost railway services and tackle banditry, kidnapping and vandalism. The approval includes more coaches to increase passenger and freight capacity, and surveillance systems to secure rail infrastructure and protect passengers.
