The All Progressive Congress, APC, has written to Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, requesting him to improve the living conditions of workers and pensioners in the State. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra Sector Command, has confirmed the death of three persons while four others sustained injuries in a lone road crash along the Nnobi–Agulu–Awka Road. Mr Asekhauno said the crash occurred on Friday near St. Jude Catholic Church, Adazi-Ani, and involved a Mercedes-Benz 608 commercial truck with registration number XB270NNL. Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have repelled an attempted attack by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters on a military base in Borno State, killing several insurgents but losing one soldier during the encounter. Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have rescued an abducted cattle dealer, Mr Peter Balogun, from a kidnappers’ hideout in the state. The command’s spokesperson, CSP Eno Ikoedem, said Balogun was abducted suspected kidnappers on July 7, 2026, along the Igarra-Auchi Expressway, and rescued on July 15. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano Sector Command, has said it will appeal the judgment of the Federal High Court in Kano which barred its personnel from operating on state and local government roads, restricting their jurisdiction strictly to federal highways. The ruling, delivered on Thursday by Justice M. S. Shuaibu, followed a suit filed by Barrister Abba Hikima, a Kano-based lawyer.
