A Finnish Court of Appeal has reduced the prison sentence of pro-Biafran agitator Simon Ekpa from six years to four years while upholding his conviction on terrorism-related charges. A report by Finnish public broadcaster Yle on Thursday, stated that the appeal court upheld the Päijät-Häme District Court’s decision finding Ekpa guilty of participating in a terrorist organisation and publicly inciting crimes for terrorist purposes. A Federal High Court in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, has sentenced three men, including a Chinese national, Ripin Liu, to various terms of imprisonment for terrorism-related offences and illegal possession of firearms. A Borno State High Court sitting in Maiduguri has sentenced a 37-year-old woman, Fatima Sanda, to two years’ imprisonment for procuring a 16-year-old girl for sexual exploitation. The conviction was secured by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons on Monday. NAPTIP disclosed in a statement published on its Facebook page that the court also ordered Sanda to pay N500,000 in compensation to the victim. A total of N2.428 trillion, being the September 2026 Federation Account revenue, has been shared among the Federal Government, state governments and local government councils. In a statement on Friday, the spokesperson for the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Bawa Mokwa said the revenue was shared at the October 2026 Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC, meeting held in Abuja. The N2.428 trillion total distributable revenue comprised N1.672 trillion in distributable statutory revenue and N756.587 billion in distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue.
